The Merced High School Library provides access to books, electronic resources, study spaces, and a variety of services that support student achievement.

Starter

  • Speed Dating with Books
  • Book Talks
  • Curated book lists on a certain topic, unit of instruction, or theme
  • Tech Tools for the classroom -individual lessons for teachers on tech tips to incorporate in your class including:
    • Flipgrid, Edpuzzle, Adobe Spark, Hyperdocs/Slides, Infographics, and so much more.…

Entrees

  • Research Lessons (how to use and search online sources correctly, creating citations, good research practices)
  • Project Collections (collection of resources to support a curriculum unit -via website or materials in house)
  • Information Literacy Lessons (avoiding plagiarism, identifying "fake news" and evaluating sources, digital citizenship

Desserts

  • Laminating bi-weekly
  • Die-cut machine available for bulletin board letters & shapes
  • Request books, DVDs & other materials for purchase
  • Interlibrary loan (borrow resources from all MUHSD libraries)
  • Departmental PD on library offerings or educational technology
  • Green screens and Ipads available

For the Kids

  • Makerspace Activities (3-D printer, virtual reality, t-shirt making, sewing, rock painting, blackout poetry, button making) - open in October - watch for new opportunities
  • Study and collaboration space- Assets after school
  • Games/Puzzles available at lunch
  • Free printing for students (up to 5 pages per day)
  • Student Supply Area for project work

    Mrs. Pedrozo is available to create customized web pages for class research project.

  • Chromebook Support
    Visit the library if you need help logging in to your Chromebook or if you need to report damage or loss.

  • Not sure what to read?  Based on how you answer these questions, Mrs. Pedrozo will pick out a book that she thinks you will love.  Make sure you have an open mind as you begin reading it and remember, never judge a book by it's cover!!

  • The Merced High School Library is digitizing texts from our archive of historical El Rodeo yearbooks. Dating back as far as 1919, these books are frequently requested by members of the community and will now be available online.
